Architecture & Interior Design Type: New Facility Location: Dayton, Ohio Completion: 1999 Project Cost: $1,900,000 |
Project Description: RTA had several concerns in the design of the Mini and Maxi Hubs. The facility requirements included being customer friendly, easily accessible and identifiable with RTA. The hubs include seating both inside and outside with appropriate temperature controls for patron comfort. Maintenance and security were also important design considerations. The materials used were selected based on their maintenance features as well as appearance. The pre-finished metal seats, porcelain paver tiles and Trendstone concrete block are all durable, easily maintainable and resistant to vandalism. The waiting area is enclosed with glass and includes extensive lighting to help the patrons feel secure. All of these items are fit into a building that projects the RTA image through signage, style, and color. |
